PFC Levski Sofia closed the gap on Bulgarian league leaders PFC CSKA Sofia today with a 1-0 home win against PFC Naftex.
Penalty saved
Levski opened the scoring in the second minute through Dimitar Telkiyski, the playmaker heading in at the far post from a Miodrag Pantelic cross. Pantelic then went down under a challenge from Yordan Gospodinov to win a penalty but Telkiyski missed the chance to double the lead when the goalkeeper saved his kick.
Rusev double
The victory gives Levski 16 points from seven matches, two points behind CSKA who have a game in hand. In the day's other match PFC Litex Lovech were comfortable 2-0 winners at PFC Botev Plovdiv, young striker Desislav Rusev scoring the goals on 32 and 71 minutes.
