Article body
Fylkir were six minutes from claiming the Icelandic title in a top of the table tie with second-placed KR Reykjavík tonight.
Record crowd
KR travelled to Fylkir with 32 points to their host's 33. The home side, watched by a record crowd of 4,450, knew a win would leave them out of reach, with one round to come next week. And, when defender Omar Valdimarsson put them in front in the 55th minute, it looked like their title hopes were to be realised. However, with time running out substitute Jon Skaptason hit a 22-metre shot in off the crossbar for a dramatic equaliser.
Pole position
While disappointed with the draw, Fylkir are still in the driving seat going into the final round. They have 34 points, one more than KR.
Hat-trick for Hjartarson
Third-placed Grindavík moved on to 29 points with a 5-1 victory at Thór Akureyri. Alfred Johannsson and Oli Stefan Floventsson scored one goal each but Gretar Olafur Hjartarson hit a hat-trick which moved him on to 12 goals for the season. Dadi Kristjansson scored a late consolation for Thór.
Fram still fighting
Fram Reykjavík gave their survival hopes a boost with a 5-4 victory against FH Hafnarfjördur. The decisive goal came from Agust Gylfason's 74th-minute penalty and means Fram will take their fight into the last day of the season.

Relief for ÍBV
In Westman Island, ÍA Akranes visited a ÍBV Vestmannæyjar team hoping for a win to lift them clear of the main relegation battle. The hosts got just that with a 4-1 victory despite going a goal down after only five minutes.
