Article body
Stefan Lundin will take over as coach of Swedish first division surprise package Örebro SK when Mats Jingblad steps down after the current campaign.
Former player
Lundin, who resigned from IFK Göteborg ten days ago, played for the club during the 1970s. He said: "Örebro were very keen on getting me here and that helped me make my mind up."
'A very good coach'
Ironically, Jingblad himself was in charge of Göteborg prior to his appointment at Örebro. However, Örebros managing director Urban Olsson insisted: "It is a coincidence, nothing more. Stefan is a very good coach and he has got a lot of experience."
Excellent form
Örebro have shown excellent form this season to rise into the top six of the Allsvenskan, but may need to rebuild in the close season with eleven players out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
'Interesting challenge'
But Lundin is not daunted by the chance, saying: "There is a good mixture of young and old at the club and that, alongside the stadium redevelopment plans, and the fact that we will be playing on an artificial surface, makes this a very interesting challenge for me."
