New boys fill their Cup

Newcomers through 
Ekstraklasa newcomers KKS Lech Poznan were 2-0 victors over KS Ruch Chorzów with strikes from Piotr Reiss and Grzegorz Matlak, while Wisla Plock defeated KS Górnik Zabrze 3-1 thanks to two extra-time goals from Grazdydas Mikulenas. Górnik took the lead in the first half through Lukasz Kosciuczuk before Jaroslaw Mackiewicz equalised ten minutes from time.

Home comforts
Legia Warszawa won 3-0 against third division side PZL Okecie Warszawa today. The match was played at the Wojska Polskiego stadium at Okecie's request and Marek Saganowski scored his first goal for the Polish champions following his transfer from Odra Wodzislaw to add to strikes from Moussa Yahaya and Adam Majewski.

Double trouble 
Wisla Kraków had a more difficult encounter away to Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno, but Maciej Zurawski's two penalties and a goal from Pawel Brozek was enough to seal the tie. Lukasz Blasiak grabbed a late consolation for Garbarnia.

Light relief
Zaglebie Lubin, on a run of four consecutive defeats in the Ekstraklasa, rallied to beat GKS Katowice 4-1. Zbigniew Grzybowski registered twice, with Ireneusz Kowalski and Boguslaw Lizak adding a goal apiece. Robert Sierka struck for GKS in 81st minute.

Back from behind
KSZO Ostrowiec defeated KP Polonia Warszawa despite the visitors going ahead after only eight minutes through Maciej Bykowski. Tomasz Szmuc equalised and Dariusz Pietrasiak scored the winner for Ostrowiec in the second half.

Higher class
Pogon Szczecin, KS Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski and KS Amica Wronki were all victors over second division opponents in LKS Lodz, Gornik Polkowice and GKS Belchatow respectively. Odra Wodzislaw also defeated lower division opposition in Alit Ozarow away. Second division sides Stomil Olsztyn, Ceramika Opoczno, Polar Wroclaw, Hetman Zamosc all made it through.
