France round-up: Auxerre denied in Marseille

AJ Auxerre missed their chance to go top of the French Ligue 1 after playing out a goalless draw at Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.

In front of a near-capacity 50,000 crowd, Marseille stretched their unbeaten run to four games, neutralising Auxerre's young international strikers Djibrill Cissé and Olivier Kapo. Cyril Chapuis went closest for the home side, hitting the crossbar in the 21st minute and having a goal disallowed for offside not long afterwards.
