Reduced terms
Rather than sack Nawalka, the Lubin board have reduced the terms of his contract and those of players Artur Andruszczak, Bogdan Zajac, Marek Zajac, Olgierd Moskalewicz and Pawel Drumlak.
'Work harder'
The club's chairman Jerzy Kozinski said: "We needed this stimulus to motivate them to work harder. I'm sure this will help us win our next league match against [KP] Polonia [Warszawa]."
Five straight defeats
Lubin had been expected to challenge for the title and began the campaign with a 5-0 thrashing of Pogon Szczecin. Since then, however, they have lost five straight games, leaving them in penultimate place in the table.
'Nothing to worry about'
Meanwhile, newly promoted Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno have insisted that coach Marek Motyka's position is safe despite a run of four defeats in six games. "Motyka does not have to worry about his job. We will look at the situation again five or six matches down the line," said chairman Tadeusz Fudala.
