Article body
AC Perugia have signed a goalkeeper with "experience and personality" after former AC Milan custodian Sebastiano Rossi joined the club on a one-year contract.
Competing with Kalac
The 38-year-old will compete for the No1 jersey with Zeljko Kalac, although Rossi is expected to establish himself in the first team after the Australian was criticised for his display in the 3-0 defeat by Milan last Saturday.
'Ready to play'
Perugia president Luciano Gaucci said of the deal: "We need a goalkeeper who can command our defence and Rossi can do it with his experience and personality. He's been training hard even if he was without a team and is immediately ready to play with us."
Successful career
Rossi's contract with Milan expired in June after 12 seasons at the San Siro. He helped the Rossoneri to five Serie A championships and the 1994 UEFA Champions League. Perugia defeated Reggina Calcio on the opening day of the Italian season before their defeat against Milan. The Umbrians are next in action on Sunday against Empoli FC.
