FC Skonto kept the pressure on Latvian first division leaders FK Ventspils by beating FK Riga 6-1 in a match postponed from last week.
Mammoth victory
The mammoth victory saw Skonto move to within two points of Ventspils as Vladimirs Kolesnicenko, Maris Verpakovskis, Pavels Rizevskis, Mihails Zemlinskis, and Audrius Ksanavicius were all on target in a breathtaking performance on Thursday. Dzintars Sprogis added to the tally by scoring an own goal, while Aleskandrs Semjonov pulled one back.
Grebis grabs glory
Kristaps Grebis, meanwhile, was in top form in FHK Liepajas Metalurgs’ 3-1 defeat of Policijas FK on Friday. Grebis scored his first on 63 minutes, burying a raking strike from distance and tucked away a rebound ten minutes from time after Jurgis Kazmins had equalised.
