FBK Kaunas continued their march towards the title as they beat FK Suduva 4-1 yesterday to secure a six-point lead at the top of Lithuanian first division.
Defenders on target
In the absence of leading scorer Andrius Velicka, Kaunas defenders Darius Sanajevas (2) and Tomas Kanchelskis contributed three of the goals with Gintas Sirmelis adding the other. Tomas Radzinevicius, who scored a hat-trick in the recent UEFA Cup victory over SK Brann of Norway, recorded a consolation goal for Suduva.
Atlantas win
Kaunas were without midfield player Tadas Papeckys, who has joined Russian Premier-Liga side FC Anzhi Makhachkala on a three-month loan. In the day's other game, second-placed FK Atlantas beat FK Sakalas 2-0, Edmundas Gaigalas and Arunas Suika scoring the goals.
