Armenia round-up: Shirak's magnificent seven

Artiom Hakobian, Ararat Harutyunian and Arman Tonoyan all scored twice and Karen Aleksenian added another as FC Shirak romped to a 7-0 home win over bottom club FSC Lori yesterday in the Armenian Premier League.

Shirak stay second
Shirak therefore held on to second spot but Tigran Hovhannisian's 55th-minute strike kept third-placed FC Spartak Yerevan level on points after their 1-0 victory at arch-rivals FC Ararat Yerevan.

Margarian to the rescue
In the night's other games, Samvel Margarian's last-minute goal salvaged FC Dinamo-2000 Yerevan a 1-1 home draw with FC Kotayk, whose point enabled them to move off the bottom. FC Lernagorts enjoyed a 2-0 home win over FC Lernayin Artsakh, while FC MIKA crashed to a 2-1 home defeat against FC Zvartnots AAL.

Pyunik go on winning
On Sunday, FC Pyunik got the better of city rivals FC Banants to earn three well-deserved points to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the table. Vardan Minasian opened the scoring with a fifth-minute penalty before Diavara Mamadou sealed the victory five minutes from time.
