Bregenz turn to Van Acker

Austrian Bundesliga side Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz have appointed Regi van Acker as their new coach following the dismissal of Rainer Horgl last week.

Two-year option
The former K. Lierse SK coach will take charge of the side until the end of the season, but will then have an option to sign a contract for a further two years. The 47-year-old Belgian had previously been linked with the position at second division KSV Ingelmunster in his home country.

Rapid debut
Bregenz lie in seventh place in the ten-team league but secured a valuable point against SV Ried last Saturday. Van Acker’s first game in charge will be at fourth-placed SK Rapid Wien this weekend.
