Shelbourne FC have boosted their title challenge with the signing of striker Paul Beavers on a free transfer.
English experience
The 26-year-old had a spell at Sunderland AFC in the early part of his career but had a number of injury problems and spent the rest of his time in the lower leagues of England with Shrewsbury Town FC, Darlington FC, and Oldham Athletic FC, but manager Pat Fenlon feels that Beavers has something to offer.
'He impressed us'
Fenlon said: "We had Paul over for training last month and he impressed us, we've had another look at him this week and we've now signed him for the remainder of the season." The Dublin club signed another striker, Alex Nesovic, last month in a bid to close the gap on league leaders Bohemian FC.
New man for Bray
Bray Wanderers FC have also moved to sign a striker, with Graham Lawlor joining from Shamrock Rovers FC. The Dubliner had a good start to his career with Bohemians but soon after he joined Rovers he suffered a long-term injury and has not played for two seasons.
