Article body
FC Pyunik lost for the first time this season today against FC Shirak - the 1-0 defeat coming less than a week after the defending champions beat Shirak 5-0.
Brilliant save
Vardan Bochakhvyan scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute, latching on to a raking 50-metre pass from Ervand Hakobyan. The goalscorer almost doubled Shirak's advantage soon after but his close-range shot was turned away brilliantly by Andranik Karagezyan.
Medical attention
Shirak coach Andranik Adamyan, who received medical attention afterwards due to the stressful nature of the game, said: "The match exhausted me. Pyunik are a very strong side - look how they beat us in the previous game. I am glad that we avenged that defeat."
