FC Dinamo Tbilisi's superb Georgian Premier League start continued on Saturday with a 6-0 win against FC Metalurgi Zestaponi that allowed them to secure a three-point lead at the top of the table.
Superb record
Alexander Amisulashvili and Vladimer Burduli gave Dinamo a 2-0 half-time lead, and Vitali Daraselia and Mikhail Bobokhidze then scored twice each after the break to leave the leaders with a record of ten wins and a draw from their eleven games, having scored 29 goals and conceded just two.
Asatiani double
Defending champions FC Torpedo Kutaisi claimed second place for themselves on Monday night as they won 3-1 at FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi. The two teams had been level on points before the match, but Malkhaz Asatiani scored either side of half-time to put Torpedo in charge, and Givi Didava added another before Alexander Intskirveli's consolation.
Kolkheti-1913 coach to resign
FC Milani Tsnori overcame FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti 2-1 in Saturday's other match. Mirza Samkharadze and Levan Vartagava scored for Milani and Boris Goncharov's strike was not enough to give Kolkheti-1913 hope - leaving their coach Soso Pilia saying he will offer his resignation in a matter of days.
