MFC Sopron captured the headlines with a 3-2 home win against first division leaders MTK Hungária FC.

MFC Sopron captured the headlines in the Hungarian first division with a 3-2 home win against leaders MTK Hungária FC on Saturday.

Hero Horváth
Midfield Zoltán Pintér put Sopron ahead on six minutes with a shot from 18 metres, but Hungarian international striker István Ferenczi levelled things up within seconds. Ferenczi put MTK into a 27th-minute lead, only to see Sopron equalise just before the hour through Mihály Tóth. And Róbert Horváth secured the winner with 21 minutes left, to move Sopron up to eight place. MTK coach Sándor Egervári said after the game that although free-scoring captain Béla Illés was injured, "it was not the only reason for Sopron's win, they played well and we made big mistakes".

Late winner
Ferencvárosi TC took full advantage of MTK's defeat to move to within four points of the leaders the next day as they overcame struggling champions Zalaegerszegi TE 3-2. The home side twice saw leads pegged back before clinching the game in the 93rd minute through striker Attila Tökölil, who had opened the scoring in the opening seconds.
