Zlatko Kranjcar has been sacked as coach of HNK Rijeka after his side's fifth consecutive loss in the Croatian Prva HNL.
Mladenovic steps in
Mladen Mladenovic, assistant coach at Rijeka and a former Croatian international, has replaced Kranjcar. "I am not disappointed because I had to go," Kranjcar said. "I am satisfied with the fact that the team have made progress.
'We haven't been thrashed'
"We lacked good results, which we haven't had mostly due to misfortune," he continued. "We haven't been thrashed by anybody in any match. Unfortunately, Rijeka's management doesn't share my point of view."
