Thrilling victory
The thrilling victory at Dens Park was enough to take Jimmy Calderwood's team above Heart of Midlothian FC and into third place in the table behind Celtic FC and league leaders Rangers FC. Yet when Barry Nicholson put through his own goal iafter just eight minutes and Steve Lovell doubled Dundee's lead in the 19th minute, Dunfermline looked down and out.
Brewster starts fightback
Craig Brewster started the fightback in the 25th minute with a well-placed left foot shot from 20 metres and Scotland striker Steve Crawford drew the visitors level with 16 minutes remaining. Lee Wilkie's dismissal in the 75th minute ended up costing Jim Duffy's side dear as Jason Dair stole in for an 84th-minute winner with a left-foot effort from the edge of the penalty box.
