Swedish club Hammarby have signed Karl-Oskar Fjörtoft from Norwegian outfit Molde FK on a four-year deal.
Linderoth full of praise
Hammarby coach Anders Linderoth, who was at Stabæk IF for three seasons, is full of praise for the club's latest capture. "When Rosenborg [BK] bought back Fredrik Winsnes we started to look for a similar player, and I'm certain that we've found him," he said. "He's a very solid guy who has only missed one game in the past six seasons. I wanted him when I was at Stabæk and I'm happy that I have got him now."
Strong impression
AIK were also keen to sign Fjörtoft and Molde also wanted to re-sign him but, as he explained: "Hammarby made a very strong impression on me, and I've only heard good things about Anders so I decided to try something new." The 27-year old's contract with Molde expires on 15 April but Hammarby will be hoping to get him to Sweden earlier than that so that he can take part in pre-season training. Fjörtoft, 27, played 39 games for Norway's Under-21 side but has not been capped at senior level.
