Icelandic experience
The 34-year-old had played 174 top-flight games in Iceland with Keflavík, ÍA Akranes, KA Akureyri, and KR Reykjavík before moving to Scottish side Hibernian FC in 1997.
Brentford calls
He subsequently moved on to Brentford where he is currently playing in his third season, but has now agreed to move back to Iceland in the summer after injuries have hampered his performances.
Injury problems
The goalkeeper was offered a place in the Icelandic national squad against Estonia last weekend but was not able to earn his tenth international cap due to injury problems.
