FC Chernomorets Burgas head coach Ivan Tsvetanov has resigned after a spat with the club president.

FC Chernomorets Burgas head coach Ivan Tsvetanov has resigned after a public spat with club president Ivaylo Drazhev.

Criticism unjustified
Following Saturday's 1-0 away win at FC Marek, Drazhev announced that he was unhappy with the team's performance. Tsvetanov, who took charge of the club in 2001 and saved them from relegation that season, said the criticism was unjustified and has handed in his resignation.

'Little more respect'
"I just think that Mr Drazhev has to show a little more respect for other people's work," Tsvetanov said. Two months ago, 15 Chernomorets players refused to play for the team after another run-in with Drazhev. Tsvetanov had to use inexperienced youth-team players as cover and still managed to guide the team to their current position of seventh in the Bulgarian A PFC table.

'Welcome to leave'
"I will not keep anyone at Chernomorets against his own will," said Drazhev. "Tsvetanov is welcome to leave if he wants to. We have the potential and the only thing I care about now is Saturday's game against [FC] Slavia [Sofia]."

Kralev takes over
Tsvetanov's assistant Gueorgui Petrov has also left the club. Youth-team coach Miroslav Kralev will take over while Drazhev looks for a new man.
