Turkish club Fenerbahçe SK and Greek outfit Panathinaikos FC have been fined heavily for incidents at recent UEFA Cup matches between the two teams.
Throwing of missiles
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body handed down a €44,200 fine to Fenerbahçe for the throwing of missiles by their supporters at the UEFA Cup second round first-leg tie against Panathinaikos in Istanbul on 31 October.
Hooliganism and improper conduct
Panathinaikos were fined €27,200 for the throwing of missiles and fireworks by their fans, hooliganism and improper conduct of the team at the same match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Return leg
The Greek club were also fined €20,400 for the throwing of missiles and fireworks by their fans, as well as a violation of the regulations concerning the number of officials sitting on the bench, at the return leg against Fenerbahçe on 14 November, which Panathinaikos won 4-1.
Heavy fine
Bulgarian side PFC CSKA Sofia received a €21,700 fine from UEFA for the throwing of missiles and fireworks, and the improper conduct of the team, at the UEFA Cup first round second-leg match against English opponents Blackburn Rovers FC in Sofia on 3 October.
Three-match bans
Deividas Cesnauskis (Lithuania) and Juha Reini (Finland) were both given three-match bans for their dismissals for violent conduct in their countries' UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying matches against Iceland and Yugoslavia respectively on 16 October.
