Automatic promotion
Enköping gained automatic promotion to the Swedish top flight after finishing in second place in the Superettan behind Östers IF, but with their Enavallen stadium having a capacity of just 4,500, the club have decided improvements are necessary.
Increased capacity
The first wave of renovations will see new stands built and the capacity increased to hold 6,000 supporters, although the club hope to be able to accommodate 9,000 for the visit of champions Djurgårdens IF, AIK Solna and Hammarby .
Civic investment
The local council looks set to foot the bill for the improvement work, with the town's head of sports, Stefan Brandenberg, saying: "It will cost the town around five million Swedish kronor [€550,000] to build the extra stands for the spectators."
