Two goals within ten minutes were enough for NK Dinamo Zagreb to consolidate their place at the top of the Croatian First League at the weekend.
Early domination
Dinamo defeated NK Primorac 2-1 after Niko Kranjcar and Bosko Balaban had put them in command with goals in the 23rd and 31st minutes.
Another loss
NK Rijeka slumped to their seventh consecutive defeat of the season when they lost 2-0 at NK Varteks, conceding a second-minute goal when Frane Petricevic hit the target. They were left exposed again when Miljenko Mumlek struck at the death.
Compounded woes
NK Slaven Belupo compounded NK Osijek’s recent woes with a 4-0 drubbing of the away side in Koprivnica. Marijo Dodik opened the scoring on seven minutes, Dalibor Viskovic made it 2-0 and Goran Gersak hit the third just before the break. Kresimir Brkic then scored an own goal with twenty minutes remaining.
Defeat avenged
NK Sibenik avenged their loss to NK Zagreb earlier this season with a 3-0 win the second time around. They were already 2-0 to the good after ten minutes thanks to goals from Jurica Puljiz and Klaudio Vukovic, Kresimir Jurcic hitting the third on the half-hour.
Draws galore
NK Cibalia, meanwhile, played out a scoreless draw at home with NK Zadar while NK Hajduk were held 1-1 by NK Kamen Ingrad.
