Article body
FC København extended their lead at the top of the Danish Superliga when they beat Køge BK 1-0 at home while second-placed Aalborg BK lost 4-0 at home to Akademisk Boldklub.
Jönsson saves the day
FCK dominated throughout against Køge but failed to add the finishing touch until nine minutes from time when Todi Jönsson capitalised on a defensive blunder to give the Copenhagen side the points after an otherwise mediocre performance.
AaB below par
AaB looked even more below par when they were given the run-around by a strong AB side who took the lead after ten minutes through a long-range effort from Lars Larsen. Sammy Youssouf then tripled the lead with two goals within 13 minutes of the second half before Kenny Thorup completed a dismal afternoon for the hosts with a fourth goal two minutes before time.
Eight goals in Esbjerg
AaBg's defeat could have allowed Esbjerg fB to move into second spot, but the Jutland side were held to an amazing 4-4 draw on Saturday by Odense BK. OB held the lead for 80 minutes of the match until Jess Thorup grabbed a point from a pin-point header with ten minutes to go.
Rathe saves a point
A late effort from Thomas Rathe saved a point for FC Midtjylland in their home match against Brøndby IF. Brøndby looked to have sealed all the points after a 69th-minute goal from Jonas Kamper but Midtjylland made up for their lacklustre UEFA Cup exit against RSC Anderlecht when Rathe restored parity in a dramatic finish.
Hard-fought win
Farum preserved their recent momentum but had to battle hard to earn a 3-2 win at home against Silkeborg IF. Lars Brøgger cancelled out Farum's lead in the 57th minute but Nicklas Hindsberg and Thomas Andreasen restored the home side's advantage before John Jensen scored a consolation goal in the dying seconds. Farum's win keeps them in fourth place.
Rocky AGF ride
In the weekend's other match Viborg FF got only their fourth win in 16 matches when they beat AGF Åarhus 4-2 away from home. Viborg remain second from bottom but are still in touch with the group of clubs above them.
