A late goal from István Ferenczi saw MTK Hungária FC extend their lead in Hungary with a 1-0 win against Újpesti TE.
Late strike
There was only five minutes left at the Hidegkuti Nándor stadium when Ferenczi received a pass from Hungarian Under-21 international midfield playerer Péter Czvitkovics and scored from 14 metres to end Újpest's run of three straight league wins.
Keresztúri hat-trick
Reigning champions Zalaegerszegi TE continue to endure a drab season after a hat-trick from former international striker András Keresztúri earned bottom-of-the-table Békéscsabai EFC a 3-1 win against the side who famously recorded a 1-0 win against Manchester United FC in the home leg of a UEFA Champions League qualifying round game earlier this season.
Penalty kick
Keresztúri opened his account in the 39th minute but ZTE were on level terms five minutes after the break through Gabór Egressy. However, Keresztúri came into his own as the second half continued, adding a second goal on the hour before completing his hat-trick with an 82nd-minute penalty.
Máté saves Debrecen
In Saturday's other games, MFC Sopron were held to a 0-0 draw at home against Gyori ETO while Debreceni VSC saved a point thanks to a goal by Under-21 international Péter Máté four minutes into added time at Dunaferr SE. The game finished 2-2.
Friday drama
Friday saw another dramatic encounter as Videoton FC Fehérvár lost 4-2 at home against Siófoki BSC. Zoltán Fülöp opened the scoring for the visitors after 26 minutes but Zsolt Dvéri levelled for the home side within four minutes. Levente Schultz put Siófok ahead again after 35 minutes, but Balázs Tóth equalised three minutes into the second half.
Two for Fülöp
The game continued to be a tight contest until the 62nd minute when Krisztián Tímár was shown the red card, and with their opponents reduced to ten men, Siófok took command. Almir Filipovic extended their lead after 73 minutes before Fülöp scored his second of the evening after 80 minutes to confirm his side's win.
Match postponed
Ferencvárosi TC had been due to play Kispest Honvéd FC on Sunday but the game has been postponed to a later date to to allow them to recover from their UEFA Cup game against German side VfB Stuttgart on Thursday. The game in Budapest ended in a 0-0 draw.
