Bohemian FC were held 1-1 by University College Dublin FC but maintained their nine-point lead at the top of the Irish Premier Division
Late equaliser
Bohemians had to rely on a rare goal from left back Simon Webb ten minutes from time to prevent defeat against Paul Doolin's spirited UCD side. UCD went in front after six minutes, when Irish under-21 international Robbie Doyle showed his predatory instinct to open the goalscoring.
Second-half onslaught
However, the UCD defence faced an onslaught in the second half, and it was no surprise when Webb equalised to earn Stephen Kenny's side a point.
Cork back in form
Cork City FC bounced back from a poor run of results to defeat Shelbourne FC 2-1 at Turners Cross. George O'Callaghan put Cork in front after 17 minutes, but Stephen Geogeghan equalised for Shelbourne six minutes later.
Second place
A penalty from John O'Flynn two minutes into the second half restored the Cork advantage, and their cause was helped thirteen minutes later when Shelbourne defender James Gannon was sent off. The victory sees Cork move ahead of Shelbourne into second place in the table.
Joy for Bray
Two first half goals from Jason Byrne were enough to give bottom side Bray Wanderers FC a 2-0 win against Longford Town FC at the Carlisle Grounds. The Dublin-born striker struck in the sixth and 27th minutes to give Pat Devlin's side a much needed victory.
Three for Drogheda
Drogheda United FC eased some of their relegation concerns with a hard fought 3-1 win against Derry City FC at o2 Park. Mark Dempsey put Drogheda in front after 36 minutes, and they doubled their advantage after 67 minutes when striker Andy Myler converted from the penalty spot.
Decisive goal
Ciaran Martyn pulled a goal back for the FAI Cup winners four minutes later, but Myler struck again after 81 minutes to secure all three points for Harry McCue's side.
Two for Keddy
Two goals from midfielder James Keddy earned Shamrock Rovers FC a crucial 2-1 win against Saint Patrick's Athletic FC at Richmond Park. Martin Russell had put St Patrick's in front after 13 minutes, but strikes from summer signing Keddy on in the 70th and 90th minutes gave Liam Buckley all three points against his former club.
