Neither F.Y.R. Macedonia league leaders FK Vardar nor second-placed FK Belasica, a point behind, could wrestle the advantage in a scoreless draw at the weekend.
Golden chances
Both Dragan Nacevski, of Vardar, and Belasica’s Ljupco Stoilov spurned golden opportunities to edge their side into the lead in a closely contested affair.
First-half opener
Fifth-placed FK Pobeda enjoyed more success in front of goal in their 2-1 defeat of FK Tikves, opening the scoring at the end of the first half through Nikolce Zdraveveski.
Gilson free-kick
The lead, though, only lasted until shortly after half time when top scorer Antonio Tasev equalized from the penalty spot. But Gilson hit back for the home side thirteen minutes from time, burying a decisive free-kick.
Beganovic goal
FK Sloga, meanwhile, went from strength to strength with a 1-0 defeat of FK Napredok, Husein Beganovic collecting the only goal of the game 18 minutes from time.
Nedelkovski leveller
A late goal from Sinisa Jovanovski handed FK Sileks a 1-1 draw against FK Cementarnica after Vlatko Grozdanovski had fired them ahead on 75 minutes. Last-placed FK Kumanovo went down 1-0 to FK Rabotnicki, Pavel Nedelkovski’s first-half goal clinching the result.
