Korotan suffer seven-point deduction

Members

NK Korotan have been punished after failing to clear their debts to players and their coach.

Judge orders repayments
The disciplinary judge of the Slovenian union of top-flight clubs had ordered NK Korotan, NK Olimpija, NK Mura, NK Rudar, NK Primorje and NK Ljubljana to pay all the debts outstanding for the period between 1 February and 31 May this year.

Korotan down to nine points
All the clubs fulfilled their obligations except Korotan. The deduction will be enforced after the end of the 2002/03 season's winter break on 11 February. Kototan are currently last in the Slovenian First League with 16 points and will now start the second part of the season with only nine.

Documents not revealed
Korotan's punishment was particularly severe because they have also failed to reveal financial documents to the league. They are reported to owe players around €40,000.
