Deal until summer 2003
The 31-year-old Vejle-born defender has agreed an 18-month contract with the Austrian side who are fifth in the Bundesliga, 16 points behind leaders FK Austria Wien.

Experienced player
Laursen played 26 times for Denmark and represented his country in the 1996 UEFA European Championship and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He is an experienced player who has played for Danish sides FC København, Vejle BK and Silkeborg BK and English clubs Derby County FC and Leicester City FC.

Two staying put
Rapid have also extended the contract of their Swiss defender Ivan Knez until next summer. Another new deal has been agreed with 27-year-old Polish defender Marcin Adamski until 2004.
