UEFA has submitted a cross-appeal asking for Slovakia to play one match behind closed doors after the Slovak Football Association (SFS) appealed against a €40,750 fine.
January hearing
The UEFA Control & Disciplinary Body fined the SFS on 17 December following the racist behaviour of Slovakian supporters and the general disorder that marred Slovakia's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying match against England in October. UEFA's appeals body will now consider the SFS's appeal, and the UEFA cross-appeal instead of a fine, at its next hearing on 13 January.
Angulo appeal
Also on that date, the appeals body will assess Valencia CF's appeal against the three-match suspension given to Miguel Angulo. Angulo was dismissed during the UEFA Champions League match between Arsenal FC and Valencia at Highbury on 10 December, following an incident off the ball, which was spotted by Danish referee Kim Milton Nielsen.
Date to be set
Hungarian club Ferencvárosi TC have also appealed against a ruling to play one match behind closed doors because of the conduct of their supporters at the UEFA Cup second round first-leg match against German side VfB Stuttgart on 31 October. It is not yet known when this appeal will be heard.
Still pending
Appeals from previous decisions are still pending in the case of Celtic FC manager Martin O'Neill's two-match touchline suspension and the two-match ban given to Ferencváros goalkeeper Milan Udvaracz following the UEFA Cup second round second-leg match against Stuttgart on 12 November. The appeals body will consider these matters on 14 January.
