Illola joy
The capture of the 24-year-old HJK captain represents a major coup for the Allsvenskan club, and sports director Stefan Andréasson called it "a great new year present for all the fans". "We've been tracking 'Ippe' for over a year now and we are pleased he has chosen us ahead of a host of other clubs," he said.
Attacking skills
Capped 11 times by his country, playmaker Ilola also has "the good attacking skills" and "Scandinavian pedigree" that Elfsborg required. He could, however, be their only new recruit for the 2003 Swedish season. "We've been looking for a midfielder and a forward, and we've got a midfielder that we really wanted. We might settle for that," Andréasson hinted.
