Job vacancy for Boro

Tests have confirmed that Middlesbrough FC's Joseph-Desiré Job cracked his skull at the weekend.

Middlesbrough FC striker Joseph-Desiré Job faces a spell out of the first team after scans revealed that the Cameroonian cracked his skull in a clash of heads with West Bromwich Albion FC defender Darren Moore on Saturday.

Unconscious on pitch
The 25-year-old picked up the injury eight minutes from the end of the 1-0 Premiership loss after beating central defender Moore to a cross. Job's header came back off the West Brom bar but he failed to see it as he lay unconscious on the pitch.

'Big blow'
Job came round before departing for hospital, though, and yesterday saw a neurosurgeon who confirmed that the player cracked the base of his skull. "It's a big blow for Joseph, who's been playing well for us," said Boro manager McClaren. "We will follow the medical advice and give him complete rest."

Reassess the situation
The club will reassess Job's situation in ten days' time and hope to receive positive news about a player who has performed adroitly behind Alen Bokšic and Massimo Maccarone, the club's preferred attacking partnership, this season. Moore also received hospital treatment after the incident but was discharged the following day.
