The struggling Belgian club will play their scheduled game against KAA Gent on Sunday while they wait for a liquidator to be found.

Drastic action
Mechelen spokesman Johan Willem defended the club's decision to take drastic action to solve their financial problems, saying: "Maybe the liquidation will attract new investors."

Difficult times
The club have suffering financially and already face a battle to be granted a professional licence for next season. The club's players also went on strike in September due to unpaid wages.
