Leaders NK Dinamo Zagreb went into the winter break in command of the Croatian First League when they underlined their superiority with a 2-1 victory over second-placed NK Hajduk Split.
Vejic goal
The first half was closely contested and it was not until the 52nd minute that the opener arrived from Darijo Smoje. Hrvoje Vejic made sure of the points when he doubled the lead soon after, though Petar Krpan pulled one back late on.

Third placed NK Varteks stayed among the chasing pack thanks to a 1-0 win over NK Kamen Ingrad, Nedim Halilovic hitting the crucial 64th-minute goal.
Ascendant Cibalia
NK Cibalia moved above Kamen with a 2-1 home win over NK Zagreb after first-half strikes from Mladen Bartolovic (15) and Ivan Lajtman (27) put them in command, Emir Spahic pulling one back six minutes after the restart.
Descendant Belupo
NK Slaven Belupo, however, are on the slide after losing 2-1 at home to NK Zadar, a quick-fire double from Tomislav Gondzic (60) and Kazimir Vulic (64) after the break doing the damage.
