First-team training
The Ukrainian-American businessman, who was appointed president last Saturday, oversaw first-team training today alongside Chuchi Gómez Cos, the coach he has brought with him from his former club, third division Palamós CF.
Time to go
Preciado announced his decision to leave this morning along with Racing's sports director, Quique Setién, and the rest of the club's coaching staff. "There is no sense in carrying on," he said, adding that Piterman "has a project in which he is the cornerstone, both in terms of finances and the team itself".
Racing ambition
Piterman, who combined coaching responsibilities with directorial ones at Palamós, bought a 25 per cent majority shareholding in Racing on 14 January, to replace Angel Gutiérrez Coterillo as president. Immediately he revealed his intention to make Racing "one of the best clubs in Spain".
New players
As well as Gómez Cos, Piterman, a Costa Brava-based entrepreneur, has also brought four players with him to Santander. Midfielders Corominas and Edu Aguilar trained with Racing's first-team squad today, while strikers Collantes and Sarabia will join them in a two-week trial at El Sardinero.
