Polish strugglers KKS Lech Poznan have been boosted by the signing of GKS Katowice striker Krzysztof Gajtkowski.
Deal completed
Lech beat off competition from three other Ekstraklasa clubs to complete a €280,000 deal for the 22-year-old, who would have become a free agent in the summer.
Lech preference
Zaglebie Lubin, KS Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Wisla Kraków had all entered into negotiations with Katowice for the player, but Gajtkowski preferred to move to Lech on a four-year contract.
Competition for places
Gajtkowski said: "I will have to fight for my place and work hard for the club both in training and in matches." His new side, currently tenth, have also signed defender Arkadiusz Kaliszan, midfield player Martynas Cikas and Yugoslavian Mirko Poledic during the winter break.
