Grindavík secure Ramsey replacement

Grindavík have signed Johann Benediktsson to replace the departed Scott Ramsey.

Icelandic club Grindavík have signed Johann Benediktsson to replace Scott Ramsey who has moved to champions KR Reykjavík.

Under-19 international
Benediktsson made 15 appearances for Keflavík last season, scoring one goal. The 23-year-old played for the club for four years and was capped four times at Under-19 level.

Antonsson leaves ÍBV
Elsewhere in Iceland, defender Kjartan Antonsson has left ÍBV Vestmannæyjar for cup winners Fylkir on a three-year contract. The 26-year-old has been a key figure for ÍBV for almost five years. Last November he underwent hernia surgery and Fylkir club officials say that he will be fit for the beginning of the season.
