Article body
Russian Premier-Liga new boys FC Rubin Kazan have signed a pair of Brazilian players, Calisto and Roni, from Esporte Club Bahia and Fluminese FC respectively.
Striking advantage
Roni, a 25-year-old striker, has made six appearances for Brazil, scoring four goals. A member of Brazil's FIFA Confederations Cup-winning team in 1999, he has been playing alongside Romario at Fluminese. Calisto, a 27-year-old left-back, has played for AD São Caetano and Botafogo FC Carioca, as well as for Sporting Gijón in Spain, before joining Bahia
Unmissable offer
"Playing abroad is a chance to make yourself known," said Calisto. "Players in Brazil do not make enough money to say no to European clubs offering a move. Plus, it is simply interesting to play in Russia."
