Article body
Dundee United FC added two new defenders to their squad today when they signed Andy Tod from Bradford City FC and Livingston FC's Gary Bollan, subject to the pair passing club medicals.
Back home
Bollan, 29, returns to the club where he started his senior career on an 18-month contract after spells at Rangers FC, Saint Johnstone FC and then Livingston.
Tod on loan
Meanwhile, Tod, a former Dunfermline Athletic FC centre-half, has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season after Bradford's money worries forced them to offload the 30-year-old from their wage bill. Both men are set to face Celtic FC on Wednesday night in a Scottish Premier League game at Parkhead.
Fight for survival
United boss Paul Hegarty signed another defender, Daniele Chiarini, earlier this month as he looks to revive his team's fortunes after a poor first half of the season. United, UEFA Cup finalists in 1987, are adrift at the foot of the Scottish Premier League with just 17 points from 24 games.
