Qatar youngster gives Feyenoord options

Feyenoord have signed Qatar defender Meshal Mubarak Budawood on loan until the end of the season.

Cover for Paauwe
The 20-year-old, who plays his club football for Qatar SC, will provide cover for Patrick Paauwe on the left side of defence. Feyenoord have followed him for several months and sent technical director Rob Baan to the Middle East last week to watch him in action.

Option to buy
The deal includes an option to sign the youngster at the end of the season, when Polish international Thomas Rzasa, another of coach Bert van Marwijk's options at left-back, will leave the club. Ramon van Haaren, meanwhile, has barely featured since arriving in Rotterdam 18 months ago, due to injuries.
