Argentinian duo
Argentinian duo Julian Maidana and Fernando Pasquinelli will arrive in Scotland today for medicals and will sign contracts until the end of the season. Meanwhile, midfield player Tom English, who has been on trial at the club, has inked a two-and-a-half year deal after leaving Newcastle United FC for Almondvale.
Defensive cover
Maidana, 30, will provide defensive cover for Jim Leishman's side after joining from Argentina's Racing Club Avellaneda. Striker Pasquinelli, 22, moves from Club Atlético Talleres of the Argentinian second division.
'Good quality'
Both players hold Italian passports and will not need work permits. Leishman said: "I'm certain we have added good quality to the pool with these signings. I'm grateful to the directors for their continued support and I'm sure the fans will be excited by these new signings."
Fresh faces
Meanwhile, Argentinian Under-20 internationals Matias Coelho and Emiliano Olcese have followed Maidana from Racing Club to Livingston. Chairman Dominic Keane said of the 19-year-olds, who are initially due to stay until season's end: "We were looking to strengthen at Under-21 level and we think they can do something at Livingston."
Busy week
Livingston acquired Guillermo Amor and Alan Main earlier in the week and have been by far the busiest of the top-flight clubs in signing new players during the transfer window.
