Ankaragücü turn to Lav

Members

MKE Ankaragücü have parted company with coach Mihai Stoichita and replaced him with Tevfik Lav.

'Disagreement over future'
The Turkish Super League club said in a statement that Stoichita's decision to quit followed a "disagreement over the club's future". The terms of his departure have been agreed, clearing the way for Lav to take charge at the 19 Mayis stadium.

Going native
Ankaragücü had sought a foreign trainer after the fall-out produced when former coach Ersun Yanal left the club for Gençlerbirligi SK, yet they have now gone for a Turkish coach again.

Top-flight experience
Lav managed Gaziantepspor in the top flight two seasons ago and has since been working with several second division clubs. Ankaragücü currently lie eighth in the Super League standings.
