Aberdeen FC have signed defender Michael Hart from Livingston FC just two seasons after the player was released by the Pittodrie club.
Immediate move
The 22-year-old returns to Aberdeen in a €45,325 deal after the clubs agreed to let the player move immediately after he initially signed a pre-contract to move for no fee in the summer. Hart was freed by former Aberdeen boss Ebbe Skovdahl in 2000 and enjoyed a successful spell at Livingston where he helped the club reach the Scottish Premier League and qualify for the UEFA Cup.
'Settling in will be easy'
However, the persuasive talents of new Aberdeen manager Steve Paterson have convinced Hart to go back to his football roots. He said: "I've grown up with a lot of the players who are first-team regulars so settling in will be easy. It's an exciting time to come back to Pittodrie as Steve and Duncan Shearer have brought a new life to the club."
Paterson happy
Paterson has already signed Steve Tosh and Paul Sheerin during the transfer window and is happy to have finally landed Hart. "I've been an admirer of Michael since his early days at Aberdeen, " said Paterson. "I tried to sign him three years ago for Inverness Caledonian Thistle [FC] but Michael chose to go to Livingston. I'm convinced it will be well worth the wait. He's a versatile player who is comfortable in a number of positions."
