Norwegian Jon-Inge Höiland has ended speculation over his future by agreeing a move from IFK Göteborg to Malmö FF.
In demand
The 25-year-old defender is believed to have attracted attention from England and his home country but has decided to stay in Sweden, agreeing a three-year deal with the Allsvenskan runners-up. Höiland played 86 games in the Allsvenskan during his four seasons at Göteborg and has made 19 appearances for the Norway Under-21 side.
International ambition
"I am happy with the transfer and looking forward to starting training with my new club,'' said Höiland. "Malmö is a club that will challenge for the championship and will be playing in the UEFA Cup. This will help me in my goal of fighting for a regular place in the Norway squad."
Coach pleased
His new coach, Tom Prahl, was delighted to get his man. He said: "Now we have got the players I want in the defence. Jon-Inge is a player at the right age and I can use him in many positions. I am very satisfied with the squad."
