AC Sparta Praha have signed FC Príbram's Pavel Pergl as a replacement for the departed Jirí Jarosík.
No time wasted
The Czech club have wasted no time in finding a replacement for Jarosík who became the most expensive player in Russian history when he joined PFC CSKA Sofia for €3.7m earlier today.
Back to the Letná
The 25-year-old Pergl has joined Sparta on a three-and-a-half year deal having started his career at the Letná stadium as a trainee alongside BV Borussia Dortmund's Tomás Rosický. Pergl played his first league match for FK Chmel Blsany and also played for FK Drnovice before they were declared bankrupt last year.
Exchange deal
The deal with Príbram has seen two more Sparta players leave the club, with fomer Sparta coach Jozef Chovanec choosing to take Pavel Zavadil and Vlastimil Svoboda to strengthen his squad at the Na Litavce stadium.
Príbram clear-out
Besides Pergl, Príbram have also seen playmaker Lukás Jarolím leave the club to join French side CS Sedan-Ardennes, while striker Marek Kulic has been released and is currently on trial with an unnamed team in China.
More signings
Sparta's winter spending campaign is not yet over, and the club are interested in signing Reggina Calcio's Czech international defender Martin Jiránek as cover for Vladimír Labant, who broke his ankle just days after rejoining the club on loan from West Ham United FC.
Sparta targets
Striker Libor Dosek from 1. FC Brno and FK Jablonec 97 defender Jirí Homola are also said to be ongoing targets for the current leaders of the Czech 1. liga.
