Torino Calcio left-back Federico Balzaretti could be out for up to two months with damaged ankle ligaments

Torino Calcio left-back Federico Balzaretti could be out for up to two months with damaged ankle ligaments.

Twisted ankle
The Italian Under-21 international twisted his right ankle during last Sunday's 2-2 draw against Bologna FC at the Dall'Ara stadium and a scan today revealed he had suffered ligament damage. The 21-year-old has played eleven times in Serie A this season for struggling Torino, who are second from bottom of the table, six points from the safety mark.

Under-21 prospect
Balzaretti is considered one of the most promising young players in Italy but is now in danger of missing Italy's next UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifying match against Finland on 28 March.

Rizzato deal
Other news from the Granata camp, meanwhile, is that Torino have signed midfield player Simone Rizzato, who will arrive from Serie C1 club Vis Pesaro 1898 in the summer in a deal whereby the two clubs will share his registration. Torino will send young midfield players Fulvio Fedi and Andrea Soncin on loan to Vis Pesaro for the rest of the season.
