Free agent
The Granata are second bottom of Serie A, having tallied just ten points from 17 matches. The 31-year-old Statuto joins as a free agent after leaving Piacenza FC following the expiry of his contract last summer.
Fellow recruit
A former AS Roma and Udinese Calcio player, Statuto has played 166 times in Serie A. He joins Massimo Donati at the Stadio Delle Alpi after the Parma AC player joined Torino on loan until June yesterday.
