Article body
The Belgian Football Association (URBSFA) has called off this weekend's league fixtures in the face of heavy snowfalls across the country.
Postponed until April
Snow today wreaked havoc with the Belgian transport network and with more snow and colder temperatures forecast for the coming days, the football authorities decided to act now. RSC Anderlecht and R. Standard de Liège were due to meet tomorrow in the weekend's big match but this round of matches is now expected to be played some time in April.
Cup ties to go ahead
There are as yet no plans to move next Wednesday's Belgian Cup quarter-final ties, and the next scheduled Eerste Klasse fixture will be KRC Genk's home match against R. Excelsior Mouscron two days later, on 7 February. Genk are the only club in Belgium with undersoil heating.
