Eleventh heaven for Glentoran

Members

Glentoran FC secured their record Irish Cup win as three Premier Division sides were knocked out.

Four for Armour
Glentoran, 19-time Cup winners, overcame amateurs Oxford United Stars FC 11-0. Darren Armour scored four goals and Scott Young, Michael O'Neill, and Andy Smith two each in the win, with Marty Hunter adding the other against a side who intend to apply for second-division status next season. The victors now visit Ballyclare Comrades FC in the last 16.

Murphy on target
Holders Linfield FC overcame Premier Division rivals Cliftonville FC 1-0, Danny Murphy scoring on 27 minutes. Linfield now meet second division Tobermore United FC in the next round.

Dungannon delight
The other top-flight sides out are Institute FC and Lisburn Distillery FC. Insititute were the only Premier Division team to lose to a lower-level club, as first division leaders Dungannon Swifts FC claimed a 1-0 win. Rodney McAree - son of Dungannon manager Joe - scored the only goal 17 minutes from full time.

Omagh comeback
Dungannon now play fellow Tyrone-based side Omagh Town FC, who eased past Carrick Rangers FC 6-2, despite trailing 2-1 at half-time, having had Marty McCann sent off.

Coleraine down Lisburn
Meanwhile, Lisburn went down 2-0 against Coleraine FC, Jody Tolan and Michael McHugh scoring late in each half for a side who take on Larne FC in the next round.

Premier sides held
Last season's beaten finalists Portadown FC were held 1-1 by first division Ballymena United FC and now must win the replay before learning whether they will take on Premier Division Newry Town FC or amateurs Knockbreda Parish FC, who also drew 1-1.

Glenavon through
Elsewhere, Glenavon FC beat Loughgall FC 4-0 to earn an away tie at Limavady United FC, while Crusaders FC overcame Lurgan Celtic FC to earn a tie against another second division side, Harland and Wolff Welders FC. Ards FC won 2-1 at Moyola Park FC and now face amateurs Killyleagh YC, last season's surprise semi-finalists.
