Article body
Marek Kozminski has returned to his native Poland to sign a six-month contract with KS Górnik Zabrze.
Summer move
The 32-year-old Polish international midfield player joined Greek side FC PAOK Thessaloniki at the start of the 2002/03 season, but he applied to UEFA to be declared a free agent at the end of January as the club owed him a large amount of money in unpaid wages. This request was turned down, so Kozminski has gone back to Poland, where the transfer window is now open.
‘The right decision’
The player is certain that the move is the correct one. “It is the right decision. I want to play for the national team, and it’s closer to make it from Zabrze than the USA, where I could also play,” he said. Kozminski has made 45 appearances for Poland, and played all three games for his country in the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Italian experience
Kozminski began his career at Hutnik Krakow, but moved to Italy in the mid-1990s, where he played for Udinese Calcio, Brescia Calcio and Ancona Calcio before joining PAOK last summer.
